Tamworth Castle Castle Quest - Tamworth Castle, Tamworth Staffordshire

TC L6290 Quest Web Banner 500x180_v2This event is aimed toward a teenage market but would appeal to other age ranges depending on their interests. The event idea is derived from the concepts incorporated in many computer games such as search and collect games where participants collect items in order to reach an ultimate goal and have to overcome obstacles and challenges to do so.

Questers will encounter a series of characters or clues, each will have a unique word to share, but they will only share it if a task is completed or the answer to a riddle/clue is successful. Questers will have to collect the unique words and record them on their card.

On the conclusion of the Quest, participants will have to take the ultimate challenge to walk the Quest grid blindfolded, testing the success of their problem solving skills. Upon completion a reward is given to all questers.

The Lost World - Dosthill Park, Dosthill, Tamworth Staffordshire

8e205098-0737-4485-a7ef-db564bbd3022By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg borrowed this title for the sequel to the book, film Jurassic Park. Thanks to them it now tells an audience exactly what they’re going to get: Dinosaurs!

Storytellers since before Homer have spun yarns about adventurers’ travels to strange lands and the monsters they meet there. But Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s version of the story transcends all previous versions because his adventurers were the first to bring the monsters back! He inspired the likes of King Kong, Godzilla, Alien and a host of other classic monster movies!

Four intrepid explorers, led by the redoubtable Professor Challenger, travel to an uncharted plateau in South America following a few scant directions scribbled in a sketch book. They find flora and fauna beyond their wildest dreams, become involved in tribal warfare between apemen and indigenous humans, and encounter terrifying dinosaurs previously believed to be extinct. But when their camera is destroyed in an accident what evidence can they produce to prove that these creatures actually exist? Unless, of course, they bring live specimens back to London in “unbreakable” crates to reveal to an astounded public. What could possibly go wrong?

Illyria has an unmatched reputation for innovation in the open air touring theatre sector, where they are the first company to tackle a show in this genre and of this scope. Prehistoric thrills, monster laughs and life size dinosaurs abound in the must see show of the summer!

Recommended for older children and their families.
