Tamworth Castle Dragon Hunt – Introducing Hafgrim the Dragon - Tamworth Castle, Tamworth Staffordshire

dragon-rubyRuby, Tamworth Castle’s resident dragon has invited her brother, Hafgrim, to come and stay. Hafgrim is a rather mischievous dragon and thought it would be a good idea to hide from his sister. But now there is a problem, no-one can find him and we think he has gotten himself lost.

Visitors are invited to help in the search for Hafgrim and participate in a selection of activities to show they are dragon friendly and can be trusted by Ruby and Hafgrim. They also need to be on their guard against the dragon catcher who will try to trick visitors into helping them capture Ruby or Hafgrim.

The Lost World - Dosthill Park, Dosthill, Tamworth Staffordshire

8e205098-0737-4485-a7ef-db564bbd3022By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg borrowed this title for the sequel to the book, film Jurassic Park. Thanks to them it now tells an audience exactly what they’re going to get: Dinosaurs!

Storytellers since before Homer have spun yarns about adventurers’ travels to strange lands and the monsters they meet there. But Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s version of the story transcends all previous versions because his adventurers were the first to bring the monsters back! He inspired the likes of King Kong, Godzilla, Alien and a host of other classic monster movies!

Four intrepid explorers, led by the redoubtable Professor Challenger, travel to an uncharted plateau in South America following a few scant directions scribbled in a sketch book. They find flora and fauna beyond their wildest dreams, become involved in tribal warfare between apemen and indigenous humans, and encounter terrifying dinosaurs previously believed to be extinct. But when their camera is destroyed in an accident what evidence can they produce to prove that these creatures actually exist? Unless, of course, they bring live specimens back to London in “unbreakable” crates to reveal to an astounded public. What could possibly go wrong?

Illyria has an unmatched reputation for innovation in the open air touring theatre sector, where they are the first company to tackle a show in this genre and of this scope. Prehistoric thrills, monster laughs and life size dinosaurs abound in the must see show of the summer!

Recommended for older children and their families.
