Save the date! Tamworth Food Gusto Festival to return for a third year
Save the date in your diaries as the popular Tamworth Food Gusto Festival will be back in 2017 for another weekend-long celebration of the region’s finest food and drink.
Organisers Food Gusto have revealed the festival will return to the town’s Castle Grounds on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, bringing a wide range of high quality, unique gourmet food and drink to the area for the third year in a row.
This year’s festival is set to be the biggest and best yet, with exhibiting businesses again being hand-picked for variety, provenance and passion to ensure visitors get a taste of something different from the region’s finest producers.
The tantalising array of food and drink will be complemented by a packed programme of entertainment, bringing together all the ingredients for a perfect day out for foodies and families alike.
In addition to the sight, smell and taste of amazing food from dozens of artisan producers, Tamworth Food Gusto Festival will include a full line-up of live music from local artists, plus fairground rides, games and activities for children.
Food Gusto event director Wesley Ewing said: “The Tamworth Food Festival has really taken off in the last two years and we’ve worked hard to create an unforgettable experience for the festival goer. Our festivals are about relaxing and having a good time as a family, while sampling some amazing food and drink. The event is constantly improving as we aim to establish it as one of the region’s best food festivals.
“Each pitch is carefully considered so that visitors experience a variety of culinary delights, such as artisan bread, farmhouse cheese, pickles, cured meats, locally-produced wine and beers, Prosecco, handmade confectionary, unique cakes, delicious pies and much more.”
Thousands of people visited last year’s event which boasted more than 80 high quality and varied stalls, including hog roasts, bison burgers, wood fired pizza, Indian, Caribbean and Spanish dishes, oak-smoked cheeses and handmade fudge. These could be washed down with real ale, cocktails, organic wines and barista coffees.
