Academic Beverley Rogers provides a fascinating insight into one of the town’s renowned citizens: vicar, philanthropist and founder of the Tamworth Co-operative Society William MacGregor.
MacGregor formed one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities ever made by a private individual, which was kept at Bolehall Manor.
The talk, to be given in MacGregor’s former home, is a joint event with Tamworth Heritage Trust, and will focus on his collection and his work in the field.
Doors open 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Attendance FREE. Bucket collection at end. Telephone 07562 653565/07913 686295, book on Eventbrite or email
