Visit Tamworth for fun festive activities and entertainment this Christmas

Christmas In Tamworth

Outdoor ice rink, festive films, Christmas lights, and a Father Christmas panto; these are just a selection of the many exciting festive activities Tamworth is offering this Christmas season.

The month of December leading up to Christmas Day is a magical period and Tamworth, provides an idyllic location for a dreamy winter walk with a packed schedule of thrilling activities for the whole family.

You will find everything you need to know about what’s on in the area on the Visit Tamworth website, but here is a flavour of what to expect.

Tamworth Borough Council have been working towards making the town more festive this year, with additional lighting, the return of Christmas trees above shop fronts throughout the town, an ice rink, Santa’s grotto and a free Nutcracker Trail.

Families are invited to search for the life-sized nutcrackers hidden around the town centre until 31 December.

Find all ten nutcracker characters and you can enter into a prize draw. Free activity packs with clues are available to collect from Tamworth Assembly Rooms Box Office, Tamworth Castle reception, or you can download a version on the website here: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk

Visitors are also invited to enjoy the full festive spirit from 18 - 24 December, at Tamworth’s first open-air, eco-friendly, synthetic ice rink at the Castle Grounds. A perfect activity for family, friends or work colleagues, set in the picturesque setting of the Castle Grounds overlooking the river. Ideal for an evening of fabulous festive adventure for all ages and skill levels.

During the week before Christmas, children can meet Santa in his grotto at the Castle Stables, located at Holloway. More details on how to book will be released very soon.

You will find everything you need to know about what’s on throughout the festive season at the website www.visittamworth.co.uk/christmas-tamworth-2023.

Go door to door and explore the many unique and independent shops, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops in the town centre. Our town also has three major retail parks – Ventura, Jolly Sailor and Cardinal Point – giving shoppers a wide variety of stores to choose from.

Parking charges will be dropped for all Tamworth Borough Council car parks on Saturday 23 December. However, the offer does not apply to the privately owned car parks.

There are loads of fun and exciting entertainment taking place at Tamworth Assembly Rooms this Christmas including a family show of Father Christmas and his chief elves in the North Pole as they make preparations ahead of Christmas Eve.

Guaranteed to be jam-packed with more jokes than a Christmas cracker, this is an adventure the whole family can enjoy with magic, songs and festive cheer throughout.
