Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events team are excited to further announce that 80s TV and radio presenter, Pat Sharp, will be the resident DJ for the Here and Now Very Best of the 80s, party in the park at Tamworth Castle Grounds this summer.
Pat will be joined on the stage with singing sensations Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Boney M, The Fizz, Toyah and Katrina of The Waves, celebrating the popular ‘80s era of live music on August 13, as part of a three-week programme of activities that will take place this summer.
Over the years Pat has hosted radio shows featured on Radio 1, Capital, Heart, Smooth, along with in-flight entertainment aboard Swissair and Virgin.
On TV Pat hosted the now cult rated ITV show FunHouse for a decade, along with other ITV shows including the Saturday morning spectacular What's Up Doc, 10 Sharp and Sky One's UK Top 40.
In 2011 Pat Sharp swapped life behind the microphone for the jungle in Australia, as he joined the ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ show. Now celebrating 40 years of live TV, radio and hosting, Pat still attracts big audiences and fans to numerous events, playing his world-famous DJ sets across the UK and overseas.
Currently he broadcasts successfully across the UK for Bauer’s Greatest Hits Radio, along with his weekly national radio show in Norway on P 8 Pop.
