Open Day at Alvecote/Betty Woods

Open Day at the Woods on Sunday 25th May, running from 10am to 3:30pm.
The oak trees are well in leaf now and the Woods is looking very green again. Everything is fresh, new and vibrant. It's alive! :-)
We are delighted to have our programme of school visits well underway with another coach load of children visiting recently. We have wanted to share the Woods with local children right from Day 1 of our Woods project so it is fantastic that this is continuing to work well, in conjunction with the Royal Forestry Society and their 'Teaching Trees' initiative, and the children love it! :-)
We have also been doing more work on our wildflower meadows as part of our evolving strategy to boost biodiversity. The meadows are very important to many, many species so there is a huge benefit if we can improve the habitat. We have been taking advice from several experts and are looking at some machinery improvements that could help in several ways. It's tricky, but getting it right will be worth it! Watch this space! :-)
We will have a modest craft stall open at the Open Day as we get things organised after lots of disruption and other work happening. *Cash purchases, only, please.* Everything sold helps to fund our work at the Woods :-)
The main arrangements apply for the Open Day: Open from 10am to *3:30pm* with *last entry at 2:30pm*.
Free entry.
Parking: Please note that there is limited car parking at Alvecote Wood, so if you are able to walk, cycle or share a car, we would be very grateful. There is parking for a few vehicles on hard-standing to the left of our main building, with overflow space for more cars on the grass nearby when required.
