Popular Christmas concerts return in December when Tamworth Voices and Mercian Singers perform at popular Tamworth venues for a night of festive cheer.

The Tamworth Voices concert will be extra special this year as special guests Barberama, Maltida Pratt, Meg Benton and Tamworth Girlguiding, will join the Christmas performance at St Editha’s Church on Wednesday, December 5, in aid of the Mayor’s charities. The proceeds from the event will be split between County Air Ambulance and Headway.

Tamworth Voices will put a contemporary twist on the traditional choir; covering a wide range of musical styles and performing well known Christmas anthems. Tickets are priced at £10 adults and £8 concessions. The doors open at 7pm, for a 7.30pm show and people are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

Tickets are available via the box office: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk  or 01827 709618. A transaction fee of £1 is payable on all online and telephone bookings.

If you are looking for another festive treat, then join the Mercian Singers for an evening of popular Christmas songs on Saturday, December 15 at Wilnecote Parish Hall.

Cllr John Chesworth, Tamworth Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Culture and Operational Services, said: “These concerts are guaranteed to be great performances from two popular Tamworth choirs, supported by Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events Team.

“Providing quality entertainment for our residents and to attract visitors to the town remains a key priority for the council’s Arts and Events team. It is exciting to see Tamworth Voices and Mercian Singers returning to perform popular Christmas classics, there is no better way to start your Christmas season than enjoying these great festive themed evenings. They promise to be heart-warming performances.”

The annual festive favourites are part of Tamworth Assembly Rooms on Tour, which is taking acts that would normally perform in the historic theatre out into the community while it undergoes refurbishment.
