An exciting face-lift for the Visit Tamworth website, dedicated solely to the promotion of information about Tamworth, has been launched by Tamworth Borough Council.

Visit Tamworth is a website specifically for Tamworth residents and visitors to find out everything you want to know about Tamworth’s heritage, local events, accommodation, local food, drink and places to visit, plus much more.

It is also hosts an up-to-date ‘What’s On’ section, allowing friends, families and tourists to view what new events are up and coming in the area. It also allows any band, singer, pub, club or organisation, to advertise their event, free of charge, on the www.visittamworth.co.uk site by submitting an online form.

The new-look site is more responsive and regularly updated to include current news and visitor information. The site can be accessed from a mobile device and also a new Facebook page which will give you the latest promotions and pictures.

The site contains a number of features to offer advice when visiting Tamworth, ideas for days out and things to do, plus seasonal ideas. There’s also an improved section highlighting Tamworth’s rich heritage, including additional information on current historical anniversaries. Look out for updates on Aethelflaed celebrations planned for next year’s events calendar.

Cllr Joy Goodall, Tamworth Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Environment & Culture, said: “Our aim is to help residents and visitors to Tamworth easily access a site that will provide all the information needed to prepare a visit to the area and find lots of things to see and do. The user will also find useful links to further information they may require.

“The website is more user-friendly, quick and responsive, offering a wide range of information about our amazing town and surrounding area.

“I am delighted that Tamworth Borough Council has launched the improved Visit Tamworth and I would encourage as many people as possible to use the site to explore more about Tamworth and what it has to offer.”
