Pop-culture icons Elton John and Stevie Wonder to be celebrated at Assembly Rooms with tribute shows

A tribute show celebrating Elton John at Tamworth Assembly Rooms

Music legends Elton John and Stevie Wonder have left a memorable mark on the industry, and now their legacies will be honoured in a weekend of live music at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

The star-spangled careers of both men will be played back through internationally-renowned performers who will step into their shoes to bring the Tamworth audience their smash hits.

Elton John supporters will get the chance to jump in the time machine and go back to when it all began 50 years ago during the tribute show I’m Still Standing, and boogie to classics such as Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Rocket Man and Candle in the Wind – from a long playlist.

John Buckingham will be the man to honour his long career having performed as the English icon at acclaimed venues across the globe such as the historic Alexandra Palace in London.

However, John won’t be alone as he will be joined by a band assisting him in bringing Elton John’s career and fashion to life using flamboyant attire from the 1970s to the present day.

The tribute show is set for Friday, September 24, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £26.

If music fans are left wanting more after Elton John, Stevie Wonder’s Some Kinda Wonderful tribute show will be shown the following night on Saturday, September 25.
